| This image illustrates the developing testis in a mouse embryo. The red and yellow dyes label supporting cells that have bundled the cells that will form sperm in the adult animal. The nuclei of the cells are labeled in green, while the blue stain marks cells that will secrete testosterone. These studies should help us understand how a functional reproductive system forms in the embryo. |
